elFinder Plugin for glFusion CMS

The elFinder Plugin allows a glFusion admin to manage and edit files on a glFusion driven website. It is primarily designed to allow quick and easy access to theme template files, but it can be used to access all files on the glFusion site. The glFusion elFinder Integration Plugin integrates elFinder and Ace editor into glFusion's administrative interface.

elFinder

elFinder is an open-source file manager for web, written in JavaScript using jQuery UI. Creation is inspired by simplicity and convenience of Finder program used in Mac OS X operating system.

Ace (Ajax.org Cloud9 Editor)

Ace is a standalone code editor written in JavaScript. Our goal is to create a browser based editor that matches and extends the features, usability and performance of existing native editors such as TextMate, Vim or Eclipse. It can be easily embedded in any web page or JavaScript application. Ace is developed as the primary editor for Cloud9 IDE and the successor of the Mozilla Skywriter (Bespin) Project.

Installation

Installing the elFinder Plugin is very simple. Just follow these steps:

  • Download the latest version from the glFusion CMS website:
    https://www.glfusion.org. You should have already completed this step, but be sure you have the very latest version.
  • Log into your glFusion CMS powered website as an administrative user.
  • Navigate to the Plugin Administration in Command and Control
  • Upload the elFinder plugin and you are done!

Usage

elFinder only allows users in the Root group to access the plugin.

To access the elFinder plugin, navigate to the Command & Control screen and select the elFinder icon. This will open file browse window where you can navigate around the files and directories of your glFusion site.

To edit, or modify a file, right click and select the action from the pop-up window.
