glFusion v1.1.7 Now Available

The team at glFusion.org is proud to announce that glFusion v1.1.7 is now available for download.  This release continues our commitment to providing a secure and robust content management system.  glFusion v1.1.7 adds several community inspired features:

  • Improved Plugin Integration Features - As glFusion continues to mature and we see more plugin development, we are improving the plugin integration APIs and hooks. The integration improvements for glFusion v1.1.7 were driven by the excellent developed by Lee Garner. The Profile Plugin allows you to easily add new fields to the registration and user profile screens. No need to edit template files or make any other system changes, his plugin does it all and leverages the new hooks.

  • Media Gallery Upload Improvements - Mark Howard has replaced the old JUPLOAD upload widget with a new, more flexible, Flash based upload system.

  • Calendar .ics Export - We've implemented the ability to now share the glFusion calendar using the ICS format. We have added ICS as one of the syndication options to the Content Syndication system. This means you can now share your glFusion based calendar with Outook, Thunderbird, Google Calendar, or any other calendar system that allows .ics imports.

  • CAPTCHA Improvements - Our CAPTCHA support has been pretty good, but one feature that has always been missing is the ability to have an audio prompt for those who are visually impaired. We have integrated support for the reCAPCHA system into the glFusion CAPTCHA plugin. reCAPCHA is an external service that provides CAPTCHA strings and also supports audio prompts if needed. The cool thing about reCAPTCHA is the words you enter help them digitize books and newspapers.

And so much more....There are several other enhancements and improvements with glFusion v1.1.7.  See the Full ChangeLog for all the details...
