Content Syndication

glFusion allows you to create RSS feeds of the content on your site.

To setup a feed, go into the Content Syndication option under the Command & Control menu. From here you can manage your feeds.

Add a Feed

Select the Create New option, this will present you with a selection box to pick the type of feed:

Type Description
glFusion This is a core feed type that consists of stories on your site.
Links This allows you to create a feed of new links from the Links plugin.
Calendar This allows you to create a feed of new events from the Calendar plugin. The ICS format is only valid for calendar feeds. The ICS format allows you to share your calendar with any site or client that supports the .ics format.
FileMgmt This allows you to create a feed of new files in the FileMgmt plugin.

Feed Formats

ATOM 0.3 The Atom Syndication Format is an XML language used for web feeds. The Atom format was developed as an alternative to RSS. Ben Trott, an advocate of the new format that became Atom, believed that RSS had limitations and flaws—such as lack of on-going innovation and its necessity to remain backward compatible— and that there were advantages to a fresh design.
ATOM 1.0 An update to the ATOM 0.3 protocol
ICS 1.0 iCalendar is a computer file format which allows internet users to send meeting requests and tasks to other internet users, via email, or sharing files with an .ics extension.
RDF The Resource Description Framework (RDF) is a family of World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) specifications originally designed as a metadata data model.
RSS 0.9 RSS (most commonly translated as “Really Simple Syndication” but sometimes “Rich Site Summary”) is a family of web feed formats used to publish frequently updated works—such as blog entries, news headlines, audio, and video—in a standardized format. An RSS document (which is called a “feed”, “web feed”, or “channel”) includes full or summarized text, plus metadata such as publishing dates and authorship. RSS 0.90 was the original Netscape RSS version.
RSS 2.0 This is the latest 'version' of the RSS protocol. The major change in this version is an explicit extension mechanism using XML namespaces.

Media Gallery RSS Feeds

Media Gallery does not use the standard glFusion Content Syndication feature, instead it implements RSS feeds for each album. For more information on setting up Media Gallery RSS feeds, see Enabled Album RSS Feeds in the Media Gallery documentation.
