Hello again!
I just found a plugin called glchat, an irc java client, it doesnt appear to have an automatic installer, and when I read the wiki on how to manually install a plugin, it doesnt seem to be packaged to the prescribed format, no public_html dir etc
How would I go about enabling this?

I don't think it's a plugin. Trinity lists it as a hack. Did you follow the instructions on the glchat download page?

Thx!

Eric

Yeah, I found that, but still trying to work out how to use it, short of an external link, doesn't appear in any plugin/module menu after extracting it.

I have a working jQuery chat plugin for glFusion which has a quick chat block and a full chat.
I'm currently working out IE and webkit issues. But should be ready this weekend for testing if you're interested.

Ok, a version of my jQuery Chat for testing.

One issue I cannot shake...
Webkit browsers do not exit properly thus the temp .usr file for those browsers does not get destroyed.
I provide an exit button for those browsers - but if they don't use it the files remain.
I also have an area in admin where you can cleanup those files.

I've started using a technique to determine if jQuery has already been included in one of my other plugins(twitter block) so jQuery only gets included once.
I'm also using jQuery in compatibility mode so it does not conflict with mootools in glFusion.
I've also updated my twitter block for the same detection and compatibility. - no version bump, just updated a couple of files. So I recommend the update.

OK, I'm not sure where I'm supposed to put the files or if they are even supposed to keep the existing file structure. Got any install instructions?

Thanks.

Its just like any other plugin

the files in public_html go into public_html/jQchat
the files in admin go into public_html/admin/plugins/jQchat
the rest go into glFusion root/plugins/jQchat

OK, thank you very much. I have never installed a plugin manually. I have always had a *tar.gz and clicked upload and install. Thanks for the information.

suprsidr,
When you say "glFusion root/plugins/jQchat", do you mean path/to/private/plugins/jQchat/?

Thanks.

in case you're still having trouble.

So, I thought I had it installed correctly. All files were in the right spot and I went to the Plugins manager and clicked install and it said it installed successfully. I modded the block css file to nudge the block components over and that was the first time i tried to use the plugin. But, anything I typed never appeared in the chat area. So, I uninstalled that plugin and downloaded your new package, loaded it in the spot to be uploaded by the Plugin manager and when I clicked Upload, i get this error "This plugin requires PHP v5.1.x or higher". I checked my info.php again just to make sure and I do have PHP Ver 5.1.6 installed. Is there something wrong with my server or the plugin. I never had this error when I installed manually but it didn't funtion either... Any ideas?

Thanks.

Jeremy
